HOW TO JOIN THE CHOIR
If you are interested in joining Noteworthy Singers for the first time then please come to our first practice and introduce yourself to our Director.
When: 12:30 PM, September 14, 2026.
Where: Knights of Columbus, 145 Dearborn Place, Waterloo ON.
If you are returning to the Noteworthy Singers then please come to our registration session. If you are unable to attend the registration session or the first practice then please let Paul Henderson (henders@uwaterloo.ca) know if you still intend to rejoin this year.

Membership in NoteWorthy Singers is open to women and men 55 years of age and older. There is a short audition process to determine which section of the choir is most suited to your voice. You will be asked to sing a familiar tune and repeat a short phrase that is played for you. In addition, the music director will check your range.
Membership extends from September to the end of April. The non-refundable registration and membership fees for the 2026-2027 season are $225.00 per member. While membership fees do cover a significant portion of the budget, including professional direction and accompaniment, members are also expected to sell tickets to our annual concerts.
NoteWorthy Singers perform a variety of musical genres -- including contemporary pop, Broadway, Christmas, classical, folk music, spirituals, gospel, jazz, and even a little rock.
You do not need to be able to read music -- many of us do not. You must be willing to learn the basics and to "follow along in the music". You must be able to sing in parts (soprano, alto, tenor or bass).
Our focus is to promote physical, mental and emotional wellness through singing. We strive to use healthy vocal techniques to produce beautiful music in a wide variety of styles.
Above all, we enjoy each others company and have great fun learning new things about music.
