Thanks to all who were able to make it to rehearsal yesterday. It was great to see Brenda and Pat back with us. You did a lot of singing and I really enjoyed myself. (I hope all of you did as well.) As the calendar ticks along, I can't believe how quickly the Christmas concert is coming.
The Lesser Joys of Christmas is coming along (a little bit of a challenge, but I know you are up to it) - here's a connection to a recording which should help you learn the words. Remember to use the choir recordings to get your parts accurately. (you have to copy and paste the line below)
There are about 16 bars of Lesser Joys left to learn.
Please review I Heard the Bells up to measure 37. When you can sing this, then you should be able to learn the rest of the song from measure 46 up to measure 70. (Hmmmm! - I wonder why?)
Next week, I will review the notes from 38 to 45. I am just so proud of all of you and the way you embrace the music and the learning. IT IS SUCH A JOY to share my love of music with you.
I loved the 'swingin" we had in Winter Wonderland. If the accents are there, you and the audience can really feel it. Well done!
And then there is "Snow" - count, count, count!!!
Next week, we will learn all of the Canon of Christmas (you will receive the music on Monday), finish I Heard the Bells, learn the last page of the Lesser Joys, relearn (review) I'll Be Home for Christmas (Swingin' Christmas), Review I've got My love to Keep Me Warm (Irving Berlin- you have recordings from last season). AND review Mary, Did You Know, and When Christmas Comes.
In the meantime, my bottom is stuck to the chair in front of the computer and I'll keep writing and recording.
Have a great week everyone and please remember,
JIM WILL BE TAKING PICTURES OF THE SECTIONS AT NEXT WEEKS REHEARSAL.
