I can't believe its 2020 but here we are. The picture above is our last memory of 2019. It was a wonderful year for the NoteWorthy Singers, ending with a highly successful concert for New Toys for Needy Kids.
Great first rehearsal yesterday. So nice to see everyone back and to welcome new members and some returning former members. I am delighted to welcome you to our choir.
I hope you find it rewarding and satisfying. As I mentioned yesterday, it may seem overwhelming at the moment, but you will be surprised how quickly you get in the groove👍.
So here's what we accomplished yesterday
1. Hey Look Me Over - pages 2 - 5, measures 5 - 40.
(I am hoping to get the recording out by Friday. - note I said "hoping")
Remember you are aiming to draw the audience in - this piece must be full of enthusiam!
Next week: we will start at measure 41 - the end - pages 5 - 10. Please look over your music - at least get a good sense of the lyrics. The more we accomplish learning nores early the more time we can spend making music.
2. Connected - this is really a fun piece - it is a bit of an ear worm though!
You have learned the first 32 bars - pages 3 - 6 and measures 45 - 60 (pages 7 - 9).
Next week - we will move on with the second theme.
3. The Night is Young - Pages 2, 5, 7, 10, 11,
Goal will be to achieve a warm rich balance of parts. (need a few more tenors) and (5 more altos) Please listen, listen, listen, to your parts.
Next Week - page 4
4. One Song - fun to sing through an old friend.
That's a lot to have accomplished in one rehearsal. Good for you. I hope to sing Hey Look Me Over and Connected at our sing out at the end of the month.
Have a great week everyone!
